Just How DO You Write a Resume for a Career Change?
How should I start writing my resume? The job that I am looking for is Interior Designing, which I have no specific background in here.
I'm changing career from biochemistry to banking. How do i write a resume?
The answer to both is "very carefully..." :-)
Seriously, though, you do have to take a slightly different, non-traditional approach with your resume when seeking a career change. First off, you'll want to consider using a functional or combination--rather than a chronological--resume format.
With these, you emphasize transferable skills and experience, rather than your past job history. You can read more about the different types of resume formats here:

Transferable skills are skills you bring from past jobs or personal life experiences to a new career. If you don't already have the skills you need, you may want to think about getting some training. There are many online options thesedays, which you can do at your own pace. I talk about some of your options here:

With a career change, a sharp resume cover letter is also essential. It will help the recruiter understand why you should be considered for a job for which you have no direct experience. You can learn how to write great cover letters here:

It is a pretty old post. Why did it show up on my Yahoo! page as a post 1 day ago? Any technology you use? --- I hope that you don't mind to share. Charlie (chairmanial@yahoo.com)
